Palate Café and Bar in Oakhurst Village of Decatur, Georgia
Palate serves comfort food with a classic twist and features a full bar in a relaxed setting inside the gorgeous Historic Scottish Rite Hospital. The restaurant also offers retail wine by the bottle for carryout. Currently open seven nights a week at 6pm. Palate specializes in groups, weddings, receptions, rehearsal dinners, baby showers, private birthday fetes and retirement parties. Daytime events can also be arranged.
McGowan’s Pub Coming Soon in 2009: new sister restaurant next door to Palate Café. Comfort food in a casual Oakhurst enclave meant to evoke the experience of a Sunday lunch or supper at home. Cozy and bright interior, accessible fare, 22 beers on draught, 100 beers in a bottle; neighborhood hangout and dining destination. Will be open 11am to 1am. We believe strongly in supporting the community in which we live and work. That is why Palate Café and Bar sponsors benefits for nonprofit organizations. These benefits have been very successful. Your organization will receive 15% of our gross sales on your benefit evening. Here are a few simple steps for having a special evening at Palate Café and Bar:
- Organize your group so you can pick your night early. These nights are very popular and the calendar fills up fast.
- Pick any Sunday, Tuesday, or Wednesday. Our staff will assist you with selecting an available date that is convenient for your group.
- Confirm the date by calling Palate Café and Bar at 404-373-4702. We will need the name, address, and telephone number of the contact person and the group name.
- Promote your benefit, and tell everyone the date of your event. Get family, friends, neighbors, business associates, etc. to eat at the restaurant on your day. Inform your patrons to let our staff know you are here for your specific benefit. You receive 15% of the sales from the people from your benefit who dine with us. As a result, the more people who come, the more money you make! In an effort to be sensitive to our other guests we cannot allow signs or soliciting at the restaurant.
- Within ten days of your event, a check will be waiting for you to pick up.
These nights have been successful because they are a true "win-win". The group wins by raising money for their cause. Palate wins by supporting our
guests charities and gaining new customers.
